Roland Merlinc was born in Lyon, France. He is a drummer, composer and arranger extremely active in the Rhône-Alpine music scene. He graduated with honors from the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2012. Roland has studied with renowned drummers such as Dre Paelmerts and Daniel Humair. He has performed with the JB Hadrot Trio which won a “Suivez-le-Jazz 2009″ award and was finalist in the Jazz de la Défense, which is a French springboard for jazz musicians. Roland often plays with the legendary trombonist Glenn Ferris in trio with Xavier Richardeau. He composes and directs music for Maze Septet.
