Julie Campiche was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1983. She began to study the harp when she was 8 years old. Following her classical music training, she continued her studies at the CNR (Lyon Conservatory) Department of Jazz. Julie received her Bachelor’s degree in jazz from the HEMU (Haute Ecole de Musique) in Lausanne. She was the first and only jazz harp student in both institutions. Julie is extremely active in today’s music scene. She works with numerous groups, including JIBCAE with Claire Huguenin, Malcolm Braff, Eric Longworth and Cédric Chatelain. She also performs in many Pousse-Caillou theater company productions. Julie regularly plays clubs and festivals throughout Europe. From theatre to musical performance, from octets to duos, from composition to free-style improvisation, Julie’s work is an on-going innovative process. Her style is original and highly personal. She has succeeded in merging her harp into the world of jazz and today’s music.
